Surgical Advances in Caldwell and Florham Park, NJ

X-ray illustations demonstrating Teeth in a day.Using the most recent advances in dental implant technology, Dr. Kirsch, Dr. Jacobs and Dr. Zambetti are able to place immediate dental implants. These implants are placed at the same visit as tooth removal and do not require a second procedure to uncover them. This further minimizes the number of surgical procedures and office visits.

Another advancement is the use of virtual surgery. To accomplish this a CAT scan is obtained in our office of the area of interest. This CAT scan allows for the generation of a three-dimensional model of the jawbone that can then be used with virtual reality software to plan the implant placement without the presence of the patient. The results are a more accurate implant placement which translates to more predictable results and less chair time for the patient. This is especially useful for dental implants and reconstructive bone grafting.

Dental Implant placement is a team effort between an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a restorative dentist. While Drs. Kirsch, Jacobs and Zambetti perform the actual implant surgery, initial tooth extractions, and bone grafting if necessary, the restorative dentist (your dentist) fits and makes the permanent prosthesis. Your dentist can also make any temporary prosthesis needed during the implant process. Don’t worry if you do not have your own dentist. The NJ Center for Oral Surgery works with many qualified dentists and will be happy to help you find the right one.
